Time, Love, Memory Review
Time, Love, Memory is an amazing book written by Jonathan Weiner. It shows how genetics as we know it came to be by describing the numerous experiments that took place.
First, it begins by discussing the life of the famous scientist Seymor Benzer. It describes the setting of his laboratory and what can be found there.
First, it focuses in on the discovery of the white eyed fly in the laboratory of Thomas Hunt Morgan and how it would lead to many discoveries. It describes all of the experiments in great detail done by famous scientists such as Thomas Morgan, Seymor Benzer, Alfred Sturtevant, Max Delbruck, and many others. It then describes how each of these experiments then led to the discovery of x-linked genes all the way to being able to change an animals behavior by removing a piece of DNA and splicing in a different piece.
Anyone interested in genetics or that is interested in the experiments that led to genetics as we know it, should read this amzing book
